Good Food, Good Weather, Good People.
Some of Clear Blue took it out of the office and into the wilderness last week for a team building hike. We had it planned perfectly; backpacks were packed, water bottles were in hand, and the route was cleared for us.
Jim’s thoughts: “I still think we could have carried the grill to the top so I could prepare Steak au poivre and Bananas Foster for everyone.”
Robin’s thoughts: “Just wait until you see the view…let’s sprint to the top, yea, we should probably sprint.”
Addison’s thoughts: “I don’t do sweating, I don’t do bugs, I don’t do the outdoors….someone carry me.”
Mandy’s thoughts: “Is it time to eat yet? Does anyone else have to go to the bathroom?”
Clearly, this was a much anticipated company activity and we were all excited to be in Banner Elk and get to see North Carolina’s gorgeous scenery. The hike was tough, but made for great conversation and bonding all the way to the top. When we finally reached the top of the mountain it was a beautiful sight to see, and nice being able to share the experience with each other.
Our feeling of accomplishment soon turned to panic when we were SWARMED with what seemed to be flying ants! We aren’t talking a few pesky bugs here and there….we’re talking hundreds, potentially thousands, of flying ants surrounding us. We learned a lot at that moment about how each of us handles a panic situation. Let’s just say Addison isn’t the best.
